Director
The Regional Director participates fully in planning and
policy-setting activities and decisions that affect the
entire Association, and is expected to do so with the
best interests of all members and with the good of the
Association in mind. Regions operate as agents of ALA
and the Regional Director, like all members of the Board
of Directors, must be concerned with developing policies
that serve the entire membership and which promote
consistency among regions and programs. All Directors
serve as moral trustees for the members of the
Association and must discharge those responsibilities
with the highest regard for member needs, a commitment
to the enhancement of the profession, and a high
personal sense of ethics and responsibility.
