2008-2009 AALA COMMITTEE VOLUNTEER SIGN UP

As we begin our 2008-2009 Board year we invite you to become an integral part of the Atlanta Association of Legal Administrators.  Members are encouraged to support the Chapter and volunteer for one or more committees. Without member participation, AALA cannot continue its growth and success.

Please check any committees you might be interested in working with from April 2008 through March 2009.  Feel free to contact me if you need additional information.   Some committees require several hours of work each month in additional to your current job.  Please make sure you have the time and the support of your firm before submitting.

All Section/Committee Chairs will receive 4 playing cards to use in this year's The Action Is On You! game.  All Committee Volunteers will receive 3 playing cards.  Cards will be distributed to all active chairs/volunteers at the end of 2008.

COMMITTEE CHAIR OR VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

BAR RELATIONS COMMITTEE: Provides interaction with local and national Bar Associations.  Reports to the Board of Directors. Reports to the Board of Directors.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE:  Plans and implements chapter community involvement at a variety of functions including the annual ALA Community Challenge. Reports to the Board of Directors.

DIVERSITY COMMITTEE:  Plans and implements strategic programs to promote diversity within the chapter. Reports to the Board of Directors.

e-NEWSLETTER COMMITTEE:  Chaired by the Director of Newsletter.  Assists with the quarterly publication of the AALA Newsletter and chapter public relations.

GENE HENSON SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE:  Chaired by the Past President position.  Assists with recruitment and selection of Gene Henson Scholarship recipient.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE:  Chaired by the Director of Membership position.  Assists with membership recruitment, welcoming new members, planning new member luncheon, membership statistics and new member mentoring program.
MENTORING COMMITTEE: Chaired by the Director of Membership position.  Assists with mentoring new AALA members and those new to the legal management field. NOMINATING COMMITTEE:  Chaired by the Past President position.  Assists with recruitment, selection and approval of board positions.
SALARY SURVEY COMMITTEE:  Plans and implements the annual chapter salary survey. Handles communication, billing and receiving with members and non-members. Reports to the Board of Directors. VENDOR RELATIONS COMMITTEE:  Chaired by the Director of Vendor Relations.  Assists with all the necessary arrangements for hosting Vendor Luncheon.  Contacts vendors for annual vendor sponsorship program.
