Chapter President
The President creates an agenda for and presides at each monthly
Board of Director's Meeting. The President attends all Chapter
Meetings and announces any new business or old business to the
membership. The President responds to questions from members, other
Board Members and vendors. The President signs-off on all membership
applications for ALA and makes certain that accurate
membership records are maintained. The President works with the
Regional Directors, Officers and the headquarters staff for the
recognition of the Chapter and its members and is responsible for
maintaining contact with those individuals in order to keep members
apprised of activities. The President is asked to make a concerted
effort to attend the annual and regional conferences as well as the
Chapter Leadership Institute. |

Chapter Vice-President
The
Vice-President/President Elect's prime
responsibility is to assist the
President in fulfilling his/her duties
and to act in place of the President
when the President is unable to do so.
This officer is preparing to assume the
position of the President the subsequent
year. The Vice-President/President Elect
is responsible for selecting and
scheduling topics and speakers for all
Chapter meetings and for the seminars
held each year. The
Vice-President/President Elect
coordinates all travel, payment,
audiovisual needs and other details with
each speaker. The
Vice-President/President Elect
introduces each speaker at the Chapter
meeting and seminars. This officer
chairs the educational committee
consisting of all section chairs and
holds two education committee meetings
per year. The Vice-President/President
elect is encouraged to attend as many
national and regional conference
meetings related to Chapter leadership
as possible. |

Chapter
Manager
The
Chapter Manager handles general
correspondence to the membership. The
Chapter Manager proofreads and assists
in the preparation of Chapter Awards.
The Chapter Manager prepares labels for
luncheon attendees, sends directions to
attendees, greets attendees at meetings,
maintains RSVP lists for luncheons and
handles correspondence with those who
owe fees for not canceling an RSVP for a
luncheon. The Chapter Manager assists
the Secretary in locating venues for
chapter luncheons. The Chapter Manager
prepares tags for drawings, maintains a
list of those who have won scholarships
and coordinates reimbursements with the
winners. The Chapter Manager acts as
the Chapter’s contact for members and
vendors. The Chapter Manager takes and
prepares Board meeting minutes and sends
them to the Region 2 Directors and to
ALA National. The Chapter Manager
assists in the preparation of
E-Letters. The Chapter Manager assists
the Webmaster with maintaining accurate
email addresses for members. The
Chapter Manager maintains databases on
past and current members and vendors and
maintains various chapter records
including past award submissions. The
Chapter Manager assists the Membership
Director with Membership Renewals. The
Chapter Manager maintains job
descriptions of board members and
assists board members in succession
planning. The Chapter Manager attends
annual CLI meetings. The Chapter
Manager assists each board member as
needed upon the approval of the
President and/or Vice President. |

Chapter
Secretary
The
Secretary maintains the Chapter
membership list. The Secretary
coordinates the location of each
Chapter meeting and the location for
the seminars held twice each year.
The Secretary coordinates all
details for the Chapter meeting and
seminars with a contact at the
location, including menu,
audiovisual needs, payment and other
details. The Secretary prepares the e-letter
that goes out to all members each
month providing each member with all
of the information regarding Chapter
events for that month and
follows-through with a Chapter
meeting reminder facsimile to all
members. The Secretary prepares and
maintains the minutes of each Board
of Director's Meeting (forwarding
the approved minutes to National and
Regional members each month) and
maintains the minute book in good
order. The Secretary files the
annual registration each year with
the Secretary of State. The
Secretary posts all events on the
web site and keeps track of all
attendees to each event The
Secretary updates the list serve and
each February, purges any members
who have dropped from the ranks of
membership. The Secretary maintains
necessary records regarding the
Chapter, such as past Scholarship
winners and past Committee members.
The Secretary orders and maintains
the Chapter's stationery.

Chapter Treasurer
The Treasurer
handles all the financial matters for the Chapter.
This position is responsible for collect
membership dues, accounts receivable,
accounts payable and files the tax
return for the organization. The Treasurer helps in preparation of
the Chapters annual budget. The Treasurer receives all RSVP's for the Chapter
meetings, creates name tags for each attendee and collects payment
from each attendee. In some years, the Treasurer is also responsible
for the Chapter's salary survey.
This position provides the Board monthly
financial data and also arranges for the
yearly audit of the Chapter's financials
by a qualified accountant. |

Director
of Membership
The
individual who holds this position
coordinates all details regarding new
members of the Chapter. These duties
include answering questions from
prospective members, sending out
membership packets to prospective
members, reviewing submitted
applications, forwarding dues payments
to the Treasurer, forwarding membership
applications to the President for
sign-off and coordination with the
Association of Legal Administrators to
maintain correct membership lists. This
Director updates the Board and the
Secretary each month with information
regarding the new members joining the
Chapter. This Board Member also
coordinates the new member luncheon,
including the location, menu, invitation
list, speakers and agenda. This Director
is assisted with this project by a
committee of Chapter members. |

Director
of Newsletter and Public Relations
The
individual who holds this position
coordinates all details regarding the
production of the newsletter. This Director
works with the Board of Directors to
identify a featured member for each
quarterly newsletter, coordinates
contributions from each Board Member and
committee chair by the deadline for the
issue, solicits articles from speakers
and coordinates the writing of the
article with the publisher of the
newsletter. This Director provides the
publisher with an updated mailing list
and oversees newsletter distribution. |

Director of Vendor Relations
The individual who holds this position
is responsible for all
aspects of the Business Partner Luncheon and will
be responsible for coordinating with the
President and ALA the nomination of the
Chapter for the Chapter awards for which
the Chapter qualifies on an annual
basis. With regard to the Business
Partner luncheon, this Director secures the
location, invites the vendors,
coordinates the location of each
exhibitor on the floor, contacts vendors
for the donation of door prizes, selects
a menu and otherwise coordinates all
aspects of the vendor luncheon. This
Director is assisted by a committee of Chapter
members to organize the annual business
partner luncheon. With regard to Special
Projects, this Director will identify
Chapter awards for which we are
eligible, will propose submission of the
Chapter for the award to the Board and
will prepare the submission on behalf of
the Chapter. This Director will also
identify goals to the Board that will
enhance the members experience and
qualify the Chapter for other awards.
This Director may be asked from
time-to-time to assist other Board
Members or Committee Chairs with other
projects. |

Director of eCommunications
The individual who
holds this position is primarily responsible for the
design, functionality and content of the Chapter website
as well as supervising the Chapter electronic
communications. |
