Description

AALA Action playing cards will be given to members for participation in various chapter related events, i.e. membership renewal, recruiting members, attending chapter lunches, socials, section meetings and community service events, contributing to chapter sponsored charities, leading or serving on a section or committee and/or recruit a vendor sponsor.  The player with the best 7 Card Stud Poker Hand will win a $2000 scholarship to the 2009 National Conference in New Orleans, LA.
 

Timeline

 The Campaign will begin during membership renewals for 2008.  It will end at the Holiday Luncheon in 2008.  The game will be played at the Holiday lunch and the winner will be announced then.
 

Execution

Playing cards will be given to members at Chapter Speakers Series or mailed on a monthly basis for each eligible contribution/participation.  (See the "The Action is on You!" Flyer  to see how many cards an event qualifies.) Members will bring their cards to the Holiday Lunch in December 2008.  They will play their 7 best cards and the member with the best hand will win the scholarship.  In the event of a tie, the leading members will draw a card from a new deck of cards.  The member with the highest card will win.
 

Miscellaneous

• Member must be in good standing at time of Holiday luncheon and conference to receive scholarship.

• Member must be present at Holiday Luncheon and bring cards to play game.

• Member is responsible for their playing cards.  Lost cards will not be replaced.

• Members may not share cards with another member or give cards away to
  another member.

• Members who have won a scholarship within the past three years will also be eligible to win.

• In the event of a tie, leading players will draw for high card.  Ace will be high, King, Queen, etc. 
  In the event of a tying high card, i.e. 2 Aces in differing suits, the two leading players will play best out of three.
